Jessica B.
she/her
Jessica started working in the veterinary field as a kennel assistant at the age of 15. She soon realized that she wanted to turn that job in to a career and started training as a veterinary assistant. Jessica worked at a few different veterinary hospitals in the Corvallis/Lebanon area while attending college at Oregon State University, and subsequently returned to her previous job in Sherwood after moving back to the Portland metro area. There she continued to grow her knowledge and skills, and became a Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT) in 2008.
In 2015 Jessica began working as a CVT in the surgery department of a well-know specialty practice in the area. She loved having the opportunity to work with such skilled doctors and technicians and to learn more advanced surgical and anesthesia skills. Jessica is excited to be a member of the team at BYVH and is looking forward to watching the hospital grow and evolve. Her passions/special interests include surgery/anesthesia, critical care and stress-free handling to create as positive an experience as possible for our patients.
Jessica is a member of several professional organizations including the Portland Veterinary Medical Association, the Oregon Veterinary Technicians and Assistants Association, and the National Association of Veterinary Technicians. Jessica enjoys spending her free time with her friends and family (including many nieces and nephews) and exploring new places in Portland. She lives with her two deaf French Bulldogs, Demi and Gemma, who entertain her every day.
