Mike moved to Portland in 2014 from Manhattan, Kansas. He started working with animals as a dog daycare attendant and started a dog hiking program in the wonderful parks around Portland.

Mike moved into the veterinary medicine field in 2021, spending several years working in emergency medicine and critical care at a large local hospital. Mike has found working at Brooklyn Yard to be a wonderful opportunity to help anxious or fearful animals find comfort. He is thankful for the opportunity to learn from such great doctors and incredibly knowledgeable colleagues.

Mike is a big fan of live music and you can find him hanging by the sound booth at many of the amazing music venues around town.
