Tay C.

she/her

Growing up as a military child, Tay moved every two years, experiencing life in various places. Born in Japan, she moved to California for elementary school, Ohio for middle school, and Nebraska for high school. This constant relocation fostered her adaptability and a deep understanding of the diverse perspectives and lifestyles people can have.

From a young age, Tay adored animals, always catching lizards and raising tadpoles to frogs. Volunteering played a significant role in her life, with her efforts extending to zoos, birds of prey recovery centers, the Nebraska Humane Society, and collecting field data for rattlesnakes.

Her academic journey started in Nebraska, where she pursued fisheries and wildlife at UNL. However, after moving to Portland, Oregon with her boyfriend (now husband), she continued her studies at OSU, shifting to a broader focus in Animal Science. Her first job in Oregon was at a veterinary clinic, where she shined as a Veterinary Assistant, initially applying for a receptionist role.

Tay discovered her passion for veterinary medicine through helping humans communicate better with their pets, improving their relationships, and addressing behavioral issues. Her extroverted nature flourished, enjoying interactions with diverse personalities and cherishing the relationships built with returning clients.

Committing to constant learning and updated practices, Tay plans to continue her education and become a Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT). Currently, she enjoys her life in Oregon with her husband and toddler. They love exploring the coast, camping around Mt. Hood, hiking trails, visiting farmers markets, and indulging in the local cuisine. Their family includes two huskies, two cats (one a lifelong companion), and a snake.

Tay is dedicated to growing in the veterinary field, particularly in areas like canine/feline behavior, dentistry, cardiology/ultrasound, orthopedic/physical therapy, and care for exotic and pocket pets.
